October 16 marks 138 years since United Way was founded. In 1887, a woman, a priest, two ministers, and a rabbi gathered in Denver, Colorado, united by a belief that communities can do more good by working together. That idea became United Way, a network now spanning 1,100 communities across more than 30 countries and territories, reaching 95% of the U.S. This anniversary isn’t just a milestone, but a reminder that transformation is essential to impact.
