Take a closer look – these are actually Great White Pelicans (also known as Pink Pelicans), fishing in the shallow waters of a Liuwa floodplain in Zambia. The pelicans fish collaboratively, moving together in a loose formation to corral fish into shallower water where they are easier to catch. The best time to see pelicans in Liuwa is between November and April each year, or during the cooler months from May to June.
